ARTICLE I - NAME AND SCOPE

The name of the club shall be "SOUTHERN NEVADA STAMP CLUB (of Las Vegas, Nevada)". The
club shall operate as a non-profit club.
It is intended that all the powers of the club be executed in accordance with the provisions of these
By-Laws, and that admission into membership in the club, the rights and obligations of the members, and
the tenure of membership, shall be subject to, and depend upon the provisions herein stated.
The objective of this club shall be advancement of philatelic interest and knowledge among the
membership, the formation of personal friendships, the acquisition of mutual benefits through exchange of
philatelic material and information, and the promotion of our hobby to the general public.
SECTION 1 - QUALIFICATIONS:
Any person of good character, with an interest in philately may become a member of this club in
accordance with the following provisions of this article.
SECTION 2 - APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP:
The application for new or continuing membership shall be in writing, and upon such form or forms as
the Executive Committee shall from time to time prescribe.
SECTION 3 - FEES AND DUES:
An initiation fee of three dollars ($3.00) shall be assessed upon all new members. A member upon
withdrawal or deficient in dues for one year or more shall also be assessed the stated initiation fee.
Members living in areas (IE; foreign country) shall be assessed a fee to cover the additional postage in
sending correspondence and newsletters to cover the additional cost above the normal within country
postage rate.
Yearly dues for adult members shall be set by the Executive Committee and submitted to the
membership at large for approval as part of the annual election, dues for members under the age of
sixteen shall be one-half the amount fixed for an adult member. Such member shall be termed a Junior
and shall have a membership number from the "J" list. "J" list members shall not be granted voting or
prize drawing privileges.
All applications for membership, whether new or renewal shall be accompanied by the annual dues
then in effect. Applications for all new membership shall be assessed at the following rates. Applications
received for membership from January 1 through March 31 will be assessed at the full year's rate for the
current year. Membership received from April 1 through December 31 inclusive shall be assessed on a
prorated monthly basis for the number of months remaining in the year.
